A former hedge fund manager and Wall Street executive, he’s widely considered one of the world’s premier cryptocurrency analysts.
Teeka epitomizes the American dream. Growing up in the foster care system in the United Kingdom, Teeka came to the United States at age 16 with just $150 in his pocket and the clothes on his back. By 18, he had become the youngest employee at Lehman Brothers. Two years later, he shattered conventions by becoming the youngest vice president in the history of Shearson Lehman.
In 1998, he made a small fortune going short during the Asian crisis. But then, he “got greedy” (in his own words) and hung on for too long.
Within a three-week span, he lost all he had made—and everything else he owned. He was ultimately compelled to file personal bankruptcy.
Two years after losing everything, Teeka rebuilt his wealth in the markets and went on to launch a private fund. After these events, he developed a newfound appreciation for risk. He made risk management his No. 1 priority. Today, Teeka’s personal mission is to help teach individual investors how to grow their money safely.
Teeka has been a regular contributor to the FOX Business Network and has appeared on FOX News Channel, CNBC, ABC’s Nightline, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and international television networks.

Michael is passionate about the extraordinary world of the ordinary consumer. He brings humor and arresting visuals to his keynotes to show how everyday behaviors are much more meaningful than you thought – and an essential pathway to grabbing the attention and loyalty of your customers. The marketing guru Philip Kotler summed it up when he stated, “Solomon has the mind of a scientist and the writing flair of a journalist.
Michael “wrote the book” on understanding consumers. Literally Hundreds of thousands of business students have learned about Marketing from his books including Consumer Behavior: Buying, Having, and Being the most widely used book on the subject in the world. He has always been fascinated with the future.
Having come from immigrant parents from Guyana, South America, who started in the U.S. with no more than $25 and a suitcase in 1967, I was taught the value of a dollar, but more importantly, the value of an education. It was ingrained from a very young age that education is the key to life and that you can have anything once you attain it. I began my career in finance on Wall Street doing Private Placements at Salomon Smith Barney after attending the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. From there, I moved into venture capital and invested a top performing $100M fund across a broad spectrum of technologies, with a specific focus on advanced materials and Cleantech. I even managed several startups after this and then turned to innovations in Fintech as part of The Blackstone Group and JPMorgan. Recently, I was Head of an Emerging Growth Advisory Group at DLA Piper focused on alternative fundraising and formed a large network of institutional and corporate investors.
But somehow, I was empty…I was a bit sickened by the billions of dollars invested in all the “innovation” that is starting to erode our capabilities to use our hands and minds in our everyday lives. After working with Kweku on forming REPRESENT, I saw the opportunity to create a team to develop solutions to REAL problems at a rapid pace. This is all that will truly matter in my life – and hence, a new element was born to educate, empower, and engage all life on earth, called CAЯBON.
